1. Clean mats at least once a day (or as advised by your specialist) to maximize performance. A Dycem-approved cleaning solution (diluted per manufacturer’s instructions) should be used.

2. Using a spray bottle, mop, or pre-saturated wipe, apply the diluted cleaner to the entire mat ensuring complete coverage. For larger installations, complete all cleaning steps in sections.

3. Using a squeegee system, such as a Vikan, agitate the surface of the mat lifting the retained particulates.

4. Mats should be agitated in both a vertical and horizontal direction to ensure all contamination is lifted and removed. Start closest to the controlled area and work backward.

5. Continue to agitate with the squeegee in a horizontal direction, starting closest to the controlled space and working outward.

6. Pull the dirty liquid to the edge of the mat surface using the squeegee. Collect with a sponge, mop, or cloth and dispose per facility mandated SOP’s. For heavily saturated mats, repeat cleaning steps 1-6 until the liquid removed is visibly clear.

1. For optimal performance, daily cleaning is recommended. Clean the subfloor per facility protocol and remove excess liquid with a squeegee system, such as a Vikan, ensuring a dry surface.

2. Clean the subfloor, agitating with a hard foam squeegee (such as Vikan) in a vertical direction, and remove excess residue/liquid. Repeat horizontally.

3. Clean the underside of the Dycem mat using an isopropyl alcohol wipe (70/30 IPA recommended) and allow it to dry.

4. Replace the Dycem mat on the subfloor. Using a spray bottle, mop, or pre-saturated wipe, apply the diluted cleaner to the entire mat ensuring complete coverage.

5. Using a squeegee system, such as a Vikan, agitate the surface of the mat lifting the retained particulates. Working from closest to the controlled area moving outwards, agitate in both a vertical and horizontal direction for maximum contamination removal.

Tips & Advice for Cleaning Dycem® Products

Clean your Dycem mats at least once a day (or as advised by your specialist) with an approved cleaning agent and tools.

After cleaning, make sure to wash out any equipment in accordance with your company’s Standard Operating Procedures.

To remove built-up spots of contamination on your Dycem product, you may periodically clean with a 70/30 isopropyl alcohol wipe.

Where the use of a phenolic or hydroxide is required, rinse as per instructions to reduce film build-up and loss of effectiveness.

Caution: DO NOT USE concentrated bleaching agents, scouring or abrasive powders, or cleaning machines with stiff brushes. A shortened lifespan or damage to the Dycem surface may occur.
